Projects in Bua

Following are a number of the projects that have been undertaken in the Bua Province. Some of the projects are complete whilst others are still in development. The Bua Provincial Administrator overseas the implementation of these projects and the Bua Provincial Council provides facilitation as required. Bua Rural Housing Assistance

The Bua Rural Housing Scheme assisted 7 household last year. Assistance followed the self help principle whereby the applicant gives 1/3 of the total project cost and Government gives the other 2/3.

Vuya Women’s Poultry Farm

Vuya Women’s Group had been operating a Poultry Bird layer business and have been able to collect 90 eggs per day but the demand from the market still exceeds the supply.

Public Sector Investment Program

Raravula Farm Rd. These are the PSIP Projects that are currently ongoing in the Province of Bua and are fully funded by Government.

Faith Development Scheme

The Faith Scheme comprises of 5 members of the Mataqali Natukuta of Navave Village in the Tikina Ko Vuya. The Mataqali own approx. 50Ha of land of which 50% is unutilised.

Kiobo Water Project

The village water supply that they were assisted through Government was incomplete. There were shortage of materials then and the villagers had tried to supplement from their own pockets but this also came to no avail.

Navunievu Copra Drier

Copra is one of the main source of income to the villages and the assistance from government to help this village build a copra drier of its own has surely boosted the morale of the community.

Makolei Youth Bowser Extension

Makolei Youth had embarked on endeavouring into the business world through the form of a Bowser to provide the very much needed services to the Northern part of the Bua Province.

Nadua Fish Farm

Nadua Village is one of the highland villages of the Wainunu Tikina and access to sea water and its delicacious is quite a hassle. The initiative to set up fish farm in the village to support the financial status of the village.

Vunirara Piggery Farm

The piggery was initiated to allow the villagers to keep their pigs from causing health hazards by roaming and damaging village green and household fore and back ground.
