Beginning of 2015 the UNDP assisted Bua Provincial Youth with the sum of $9000.00 and part of this grant was to conduct a workshop addressing:
Reviving of Provincial Youth clubs
Climate Change
Financial and Literacy Training
Income Generating Projects for youth clubs
Health and Wellness
In the month of September, 70 youth from various youth groups in the province travelled to Suva to attend a week long workshop organized by the Ministry of Youth. Transportation and meals were all funded by the ministry.
The National Sports council conducted a TOT to youth in the District of Bua, Navakasiga, Dama and Lekutu at Bua village. Youths attending this training were able to learn the following sporting skills in :
Rugby
Volleyball
Netball
Boxing
After the training youths were awarded with Certificated and were requested to utilized their knowledge in the sports arena where refereeing was much needed.
The Office also identifies participants for the Training of Trainers to be held at the Friendly North Inn on Oct 14 and 15 (Wed and Thursday).
In this training participant will learn to teach the Civic Leadership Toolkit and also be involved in film production on youth related themes.
UNDP SCEFI is providing transport costs, free stationery, tee shirts, morning, afternoon teas and lunches.
