Bua Rugby Union

The newly formed Bua Rugby Union was established through a resolution being passed by the Bua Provincial Council in its meeting on 20/11/14 which had requested the Bua Provincial Office to spearhead and facilitate the formation of the Bua Rugby Union. The Bua Provincial Council has expressed their interest in the development of rugby in the Bua province thus given their support to the newly elected interim Bua Rugby Union Committee members:

With limited and irregular public bus service available in Bua together with its public inaccessible to other public service transport and its isolation from the main center. The interim committee has decided to form four Rugby Zone under the Bua Rugby Union:

1. Kubulau

2. Wainunu Zone

3. Nabouwalu Zone (Tikina Vuya, Tikina Nadi, Tikina Solevu, Tikina Dama)

4. Lekutu Zone (Tikina Bua, Navakasiga, Lekutu)

The Interim Committee with the leadership of its President Tevita Robanakadavu traditionally approached the nine (9) Vanua heads to request them to facilitate in the formation of their respective rugby zone. 

One of the many challenges that the Bua Rugby Union faced was the prolonged delay in the Vanua Levu Telecom Cup Competition which has drastically affected the four zone competition and the preparation of the Bua Rugby Team.

Vanua Levu Telecom Cup Competition

This competition is only between Cakaudrove and Bua in which the Cakaudrove Team after winning all the three round robin matches had represented the northern division to the semifinal playoff. The Cakaudrove Team eventually reached the final after they defeated Nanukuloa in the semifinal and lost to Malolo in the Final

Below is the result of the 3 round robin matches between Bua and Cakaudrove:

3. Cakaudrove 28 - 10 Bua
